The Type 95 was a light tank used by the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War, and in the Second World War. It proved sufficient against infantry but was ineffective against other tanks. Approximately 2,300 were produced, making it the most numerous Japanese armored fighting vehicle of the Second World War.
The one on display here at the US Army Museum of Hawaii was captured by Company A, 193rd Tank BN, 27th Inf. Div. Nov 1943 on Makin Island.
